Future Plans and Concepts
I've got some feedback wondering about future plans for the project. Nothing is set in stone as if others join the team then collaborating on ideas would be essential. These are only my current thoughts, think of them all as stretch goals to pick and choose. Many are unnecessary for a viable product.
Ship upgrades:
- Laser PDCs for better missile defence
- increased damage
- increased maneuvering
- increased shields
- friendly wingmen drones that shoot down missiles
Railgun for rewarding ship control with a deadly precision weapon (currently already used by out of bounds turrets)
Enemy ranks:
- PDC only
- Missile only
- PDC and missile
- Railgun only
Boss fights:
- capital ship under the playable 2D plane with destruct able elements and turrets that raise into the playable plane.
Level types:
- attack defended point
- defend point against waves
- objective: survive
- navigate around a maze of turrets
Misc:
- large objects like space stations could poke up into the 2D plane as colliders
- Radio chatter. Character portraits (animated?) could appear in corners to spout generic combat chatter, threats, or level objectives, exposition, etc. Would require voice acting, character artists, etc.
